By Kathy Turner • Work is progressing on the new American Legion Entertainment Pavilion at Fireman’s Park in Maryville. Boeker Construction Company was awarded the bid for the project and had a milder-than-usual February and March to thank for the progress.
The pavilion will be the setting for many activities and concerts at the park beginning this summer. As part of the process, the Maryville Parks and Rec Committee, along with the Collinsville Area Community Foundation, are hosting a brick and block fundraiser.
Residents can purchase an engraved brick or block to be included in the project. There are three levels of donations for the program: the corporal level, which includes a 4” x 8” brick with up to 3 lines of text, 13 letters per line including spaces for $125; the sergeant level, which includes an 8” x 8” brick with six lines of text, 13 letters per line for $500; and the captain level, which includes a 12” x 12” grey granite block with logo and up to 10 lines of text depending on the logo size for $2,500.
Anyone interested in securing a brick or block for the project can contact [email protected] or call 618-223-8965 or stop by village hall at 2520 N. Center St.. Checks should be made payable to CACF.
